St Aloysius College is currently seeking to recruit a Procurement Officer, with finance duties, to join their team on a full-time basis.

The selected candidate will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, products and services, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plans for the purchase of equipment, services and supplies;
  • Prepare any related technical specifications for the procurement of goods and services;
  • Develop procurement strategies that are cost-effective;
  • Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors;
  • Follow and enforce the college’s procurement policies;
  • Review, compare, analyse and recommend products and services to be purchased;
  • Approve purchase orders and organize and confirm delivery of goods and services;
  • Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements;
  • Liaise with Finance to maintain accurate purchase records;
  • Develop and maintain a fixed asset register;
  • Prepare correspondence, emails, reports and other documents;
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and policy gaps.

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese;
  • Possess an eye for detail and ability to work under pressure;
  • Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to work without supervision;
  • Be able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively;
  • Be self-motivated and possess problem-solving skills;
  • Have at least two years’ experience working in a similar position;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Be a team player.
