St Aloysius College is currently seeking to recruit a Procurement Officer, with finance duties, to join their team on a full-time basis.
The selected candidate will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, products and services, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare plans for the purchase of equipment, services and supplies;
- Prepare any related technical specifications for the procurement of goods and services;
- Develop procurement strategies that are cost-effective;
- Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors;
- Follow and enforce the college’s procurement policies;
- Review, compare, analyse and recommend products and services to be purchased;
- Approve purchase orders and organize and confirm delivery of goods and services;
- Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements;
- Liaise with Finance to maintain accurate purchase records;
- Develop and maintain a fixed asset register;
- Prepare correspondence, emails, reports and other documents;
- Identify process improvement opportunities and policy gaps.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Maltese;
- Possess an eye for detail and ability to work under pressure;
- Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to work without supervision;
- Be able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively;
- Be self-motivated and possess problem-solving skills;
- Have at least two years’ experience working in a similar position;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Be a team player.
