Celebrating 100 years of dedication to the education of our children
Did you know that St Aloysius Primary School was originally Stella Maris School, founded by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) 100 years ago?
Watch the video below to learn more about our school’s precious history:
In honour of this special occasion, a celebration took place at our Primary School on Monday 21st November. Starting with a tour of the school, guests including Sr Lilian Hunt (FMM Provincial), Sisters from the Order, College staff, members of the Board and students were invited into the Assembly Hall. The celebration was opened with a short welcome by the President of the St Aloysius Primary School Student Council and Ms Daniela, followed by a song by the Prep 3s.
Watch the ceremony here:
Fr Jimmy Bartolo sj (our Rector), Sr Lilian Hunt and Fr Michael Bugeja sj (Delegate for the Jesuits in Malta), delivered their respective speeches, and Sr Lilian was presented with a commemorative token (customised design ordered from Mdina Glass) in honour of this special occasion.

Following the inauguration of the interactive and child-friendly murals, and a presentation given by Ms Alison Vella (Communications Officer – Euro-Mediterranean Province), Rev Dr Charles Mallia O.Carm shared a prayer and blessed the murals. The Prep 3s closed the ceremony with the school anthem.

What a truly lovely and memorable celebration!
With deepest gratitude to the FMM for their legacy of love, care and dedication!
