Between Tuesday 19 to Friday 23 October, a group of 16 students from Franciscan School in Szentendre, Hungary, accompanied by two educators, visited Malta as part of a student mobility experience.
Our secondary school hosted the group on Wednesday 20 and Friday 23 October. The Hungarian students prepared presentations about Hungarian figures who have contributed to creativity around the world, as well as presentations on Hungarian geography, history and other aspects of their culture. They also prepared quizzes for our students. Our teachers also prepared an activity for students to complete as they listened to the Hungarians’ presentations.
These activities take place during the Form 5 English lessons with Ms Laura Camilleri Sghendo and Ms Ruth Saliba. Our Form 5 students also took part in speaking and writing activities organised for the occasion too. During their breaks, Form 5 students had the opportunity to socialise and get to know one another too.
The Hungarians also visited Valletta, Mdina, and the Three Cities too during their visit.
This opportunity has given our students the chance to learn about Hungarian culture and practise global citizenship within our own school community.
