We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Mr Paul Borg; a greatly respected colleague, beloved friend, and inspiring teacher.
Everyone within the educational community at St Aloysius College and beyond is still incredulous at the sad reality that our friend and colleague, Paul Borg, has been taken away from us so soon. Apart from knowing Paul as a family man and a friend, most of us worked with him in the various roles he occupied throughout his career, namely as a teacher, as an Assistant Head and Head of Department of Economics within the Secretariat for Catholic Education. Throughout the years Paul has proved to be a real Man for Others, always ready to help and offer support when needed. Paul always showed an innate disposition to throw in a good word of advice when needed not to mention his ability to bring people together. He will surely be missed by us all but never forgotten. May God grant him eternal rest and provide his family with the support needed during such difficult times.

Paul Borg was one of the first persons to believe in inclusion at our College. Way back in 2004 when he was an Assistant Head he gave me loads of support and good advice. He was always ready to help, and a great example to many. I will always remember him as a good man with a good heart. May he rest in peace.

Let us look back at his excellent career and invaluable contribution to our College and the education of our students:
1978 – 1985
Taught full-time Accounts, Economics, Maths and Commerce at St Aloysius College and later at De La Salle College.
1986 – 2000
Full-Time teacher of Accounts, Economics, Maths, and Commerce at St Aloysius College. For many of these years, Mr Paul Borg was also the Teachers’ Union representative.
2000 – 2010
Assistant Head: responsible for Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular activities, and set the foundations for the changes needed in the logistics side of the day-to-day running of the school. Praised especially for his excellent daily contact and dealings with all staff members and for the professionality of his work.
2011 – 2021
Head of Department for Economics within the Church Secretariat for Catholic Education, and representative of Church School teachers on the MATSEC panels responsible for the setting of the syllabus and of SEC examination papers. During this time, Mr Paul Borg continued to be an active member of staff at St Aloysius College teaching Economics to our secondary school boys.
