Fr Rector’s Easter 2025 Message

Dear educators, students and parents/guardians,

We have now reached the end of another long term, full of opportunities that have helped us grow as an educational community here at College. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all educators for their significant role in the formation of your children.

As you know, this year we are celebrating the Jubilee of Hope. If there is one thing our world needs right now, it is hope. We hope for peace and an end to wars; we hope for greater care of the planet we live on; we hope for politics focused solely on the common good; and we hope for reconciliation among us, within our families and in our workplaces.

During Holy Week and Easter, the Church reminds us that the hope Jesus Christ offers does not deceive. Christ, who died and resurrected, shows us that the final word belongs not to death, violence and hatred, but to love, peace and justice. We cannot have the resurrection without the cross and we cannot have the cross without the resurrection. Our faith helps us understand this mystery of suffering, death and the resurrection as one unified reality.

As you know, the College has embarked on a process to select the person who will be appointed to lead the College following my twelve and a half years of leadership as rector. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for the collaboration and support I have received from you throughout this time. I would like to assure you that the Jesuits will continue to carry out their pastoral and administrative mission within the College. We pray that the most suitable person will be selected, and that this transition process will bear lasting and meaningful fruit.

I warmly invite you to take an active part in this process by completing the questionnaire we’ve sent you regarding the College’s strategic plan for 2025-2028. We are eager to listen to everyone’s opinions as they will help us better choose our priorities for the years ahead. I encourage you to take a moment to complete the questionnaire you have received via email and submit your anonymous responses by no later than the 24 of April.

You are most welcome to join us for the Holy Week liturgies: Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. and Good Friday at 3 p.m., both celebrated in the College church, and the Easter Vigil Mass at 8 p.m., which will be celebrated in the College theatre.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for your collaboration and for the love you show towards the educational mission of the College.

I wish you a Blessed Easter, filled with hope in the Lord, who never deceives us and who certainly gives us His peace if we ask Him for it.

A Blessed Easter to you and your loved ones.
